Where O where has Clare been?

Many of you have written to ask why I haven't put out a newsletter in so long. This is a really good question and deserves a full and heart-felt answer. So I am writing this letter to my Star of Wisdom family to update you on my personal journey of this last year.

As most of you know, I have been in Spring Valley, New York, since September of 2009. I am engaged in a full-time (as much as possible financially) spiritual and artistic training in the power of the Word and the forces living in the Logos. The work is called Creative Speech or Speech Formation and is inspired out of the work of Rudolf Steiner. And I must say, if there is any type of speech that can be creative in the literal sense of the word, it is Creative Speech. In this work, we clear and activate our etheric (life force) bodies, get in touch with the living spiritual beings who live in the sounds of speech, awaken and strengthen our Higher Ego focus, and begin to create what we speak in actual living etheric forms there in the air around us. And if one were to master it enough, I imagine the physical forms might also appear 'poof' right there in your hand, as is described in many ancient mystery traditions.

In my long journey through many, many spiritual trainings, I have never experienced such a powerfully transformative process. I love that, being an artistic training, it feeds and crafts my Soul into a lovely vessel for the creative-wisdom forces of Isis/Sophia. You may also have noticed how our work in drama and storytelling has made my newsletters and meditations, and the sharing of my insights much more rich and soul-satisfying.

Even my intuitive skills have grown so much. I myself have been amazed at the new depths my readings have reached (especially the combined Mayan-Western charts), and at the beauty of the 2010 Winter Solstice Grail Meditation and the insights that poured in from my star guides last year for that newsletter and meditation. And finally, it was a joy to weave all these insights into visual form in my “stunningly beautiful” (to quote a purchaser) new Galactic-Earth-Sol Calendar, which birthed herself a year ago. All these far surpass anything I have been privileged to share in my 30+ years of doing this work.

Being fully present to the training would probably have been more than enough to engage my energy for the last few years. However, I am also juggling supporting myself and paying for the training (no drop in the bucket, believe me). I seem to have been offered many gifts to help and assist my fellow journeyers, but have yet to receive the real knack of how to milk the economic system well, or the help of someone who can. And so my Star of Wisdom work remains a joyful service, but an unreliable source of support. So I have been working about 25+ hours a week, at 3 or 4 different jobs to make up the difference and support this next step in the unfolding of my ability to serve you all and our world more deeply. I am not asking for pity here, I understand that many of you are holding up loads of even greater weight in order to be here and do what you are guided to do.

What I am requesting is some understanding when I wind up going months at a time without being able to put together and send out a newsletter. It is frustrating to me too. I am not in my 20's or 30's any more. In fact I am having to learn how to gracefully settle into the spiritual space and role of an elder. And that includes accepting the limitations of a 60+ year-old physical vehicle. (I know, it doesn't look it, and mostly doesn't feel like it, but alas it is true). And that means often having to gracefully accept that I can't simultaneously take on several major projects, a deep training process, and the needs of several communities of people who are all very dear to me.

And so, unless some sponsorship should appear to lighten the load for the rest of my training (I expect to be done December 2012, finances and God willing), I am afraid I can't promise you that I will have time to deeply plunge into the star speakings, translate and shape them into clear sharing, and do the artistic and technical work needed to send them out as newsletters on any linear timetable.

I will do my best to share whenever the doors of insight open. I have started putting together the enticing images that came from the heavens and Earth to me in this deep 12 Holy Nights of 2011-12. I will do my best to get them all out to you as I can grab minutes between Speech classes, speaking for eurythmy students, play rehearsals, crafting my first solo speech performance (coming up in February!), speech practice, running from this to that job, being of spiritual and healing support to my clients and community members here and across the country.... Hmmm I think that gimpy knee is getting stiff just thinking of it all!

Please know that I love you all very much and think of you often. I send blessings, healing, and awakening energy to you all each day - even when you don't hear from me in the outer world of letters and speech.

Winter Solstice & 12 Holy Nights - Lighting the Candle

Every Winter Solstice in these years around the 2012 window is especially precious because it marks a portal through which Spiritual energy from our Great Central Sun in the Galactic Core can pour through to activate and awaken us – especially if we are awake to it. Here are some ideas for celebrating this most potent of holidays:

1) Our Mother Earth has just finished a cosmic inbreath and is holding her whole etheric body and life forces deep within her. Her etheric body is made up of the elemental beings of nature (gnomes, sylphs and so on) who are very active preparing the life bodies of all the plants, animals and humans who will be born in this coming year. This is the best time of year to tune into our Great Earth Mother within and to connect with the wisdom of the elemental beings. But be wary, this can be quite a party as the elementals, especially the gnomes, are known to be very intelligent and very mischievous – hence all the fairy tales about elves and gnomes who test humans with tricky riddles. So make sure you don't loose your shirt in the bargain!

2) Initiates in the old Mystery Schools used to go into deep caves at this time of year, go into a totally still, almost death-like state, and go through the initiation called “Seeing the Sun at Midnight”. Finding the light of our inner Sun, and birthing our Spirit Self is the true gift of the season. It involves taking some time for inner contemplation and meditation and giving your inner soul life some attention. But the rewards are great.

3)The Archangels are passing the Cup of the Season on solstice day – from Archangel Michael who carried the cup through the Autumn Season of battling the dragons in and around us, to the gentle benediction of Archangel Gabriel who comes in silvery snow-crystal robes to announce the birth of the Christed, awakened One within our hearts at Christmas time.

4)The 12 Holy Nights that go from Christmas eve to Epiphany eve (January 5), are a microcosm of the coming year with its 12 months. So each of these nights you can take some time to journal your dreams and the events of your life that day, and also to work on any spiritual explorations, reading, or goals you may like to unfold. Many people feel that what happens in these 12 days will be a preview of what happens in the next 12 months of your life. You may like to try it out.

Magic of the Word

Well it is time for an update on my journey in NY and my Creative Speech studies. What an astounding process it has been to dive into the mysteries of the Word! Our little group has been going deeply into the qualities of each sound of speech, one by one. And what an amazing world is hidden in a thing as simple as one letter of the alphabet.

Take 'A' for instance. Ahhh – the sound can express so many meanings – wonder, amazement, delight. Making the sound Ah puts your whole body, speech organs, and being in a state of wide openness. Your arms want to open wide, as your mouth does, and you even lean back a bit to open out to the whole world. With Ah, you receive deeply from your environment. At the same time it lets your astral body stream out fully. Rudolf Steiner says that speaking Ah takes you almost to the point of falling asleep (when your astral body and ego go out of your physical body), but you catch yourself just in time. A fun image!

One of our group's most powerful speech exercises uses words with the sound Ah to put our Selves out into the space in front of us as a shining, radiating pillar of light. If you want a technique to sharply point out and then push through just where you have any remaining blocks in your physical or energy bodies, this is the one! In Creative Speech and Eurythmy (a sacred movement practice) therapies, the sound Ah is used to help with problems in falling asleep or waking, the kidneys, the teeth, eplilepsy, and migraines to name just a few areas.
